Snow Eagle 2011: Pagliano Manning Up

Take note all you rufty Para and Marine Types, I'm about to ski off the mountain carrying not 1 but 2 rucksacks !!!!!

Overview and Purpose

On the 25th of March 2011, I was given leave from my day job (Tutor Uniformed and Public Services (UPS) – Chesterfield College) to fulfil my role as a Flt Lt - RAF VR(T) Air Training Corp (ATC) I left home in the early hours taking with me enough kit to last 10 days.

The reason for my departure is that I am escorting 20 + cadets who are experiencing a RAF winter skills course which is held in Austria. Two of the cadets are from my squadron (140 Matlock) both have also gained a places on the Chesterfield College UPS course.

The college course is a natural progression route for many cadets who upon leaving school are seeking UPS employment and or progression to University.

There are links on this site to both the UPS and the ATC ? We will be meeting at RAF Northolt (London) we will be travel by coach to our destination, the journey is expected to take 19 hours.

I will hopefully be posting news and pictures of our experiences on a daily basis, hope you will find them interesting.
